All AI ecommerce lessonsLESSON 06 OF 15 · Marketing

Make your store understandable in search and AI answers

Improve product facts, helpful answers and crawlable content without promising rankings.

Ecom Coach Editorial · Updated October 25, 2026

Bring these inputs

Your top product and category pages, Search Console and current catalog data.

Use approved, minimized data. Replace personal details with anonymous IDs.

Work through the lesson

  1. SEO helps search engines discover and understand pages. AEO focuses on answering questions clearly; GEO is a common term for visibility in generative answers. These overlap and none guarantees a citation.
  2. Check indexing, internal links, canonical URLs and mobile page usability. Make the essential product information readable in the page itself.
  3. Add direct answers about fit, materials, compatibility, shipping and returns. Use original photos and explain the basis for comparisons.
  4. Keep product structured data and merchant feed values consistent with visible price, availability and policies. Validate markup; do not mark up invented reviews.
  5. Monitor search queries, qualified referral visits and conversions. Use repeatable, dated AI-answer checks as observations, not comprehensive market-share measurements.

Try this prompt

Replace the bracketed fields with your own evidence.

Audit [page content and verified product data] for unanswered buying questions, vague claims and inconsistent product facts. Suggest clearer copy and internal links. Separate crawl/index checks from content changes. Do not promise AI citations, rankings or special AI schema.

Worked example

A page that clearly states internal dimensions and shows a real packing example gives shoppers more evidence than a generic “best travel accessory” claim.

Before you use the result

  • Visible facts agree with structured data.
  • Sources and policies are easy to find.
  • No promise of guaranteed AI inclusion.

Complete the exercise

Create the deliverable described at the top of this lesson. Save the input evidence, your edited output, unresolved questions and the name of the reviewer in your workbook.
