Create a product-launch readiness tracker with ChatGPT Work or Codex, GitHub, Railway, and Supabase while keeping the store’s core commerce flow intact.
Every store has work that happens around the storefront: checking launch assets, collecting product facts, coordinating photography, and making sure a promotion is actually ready.
That surrounding work is a good place to test a small custom application. Start with a product-launch readiness tracker that gives the team one place to see what is missing before a product goes live.
Define readiness in business terms
Use a short list of checks that change the launch decision: approved product facts, usable images, price confirmed, inventory or delivery plan checked, page reviewed, and the purchase journey tested.
Each check needs an owner and evidence. A green status without a link, note, or observed result can create false confidence.
The first release might support one launch, several checklist items, and a decision of “ready,” “blocked,” or “needs review.” Keep product publishing and price changes manual while you learn whether the tracker helps.
Ask for the tool, repository, and deployment
Use ChatGPT Work or Codex with Astra Extra High if your account offers it:
Build a product-launch readiness tracker for a small ecommerce team. Create an authorized private GitHub repository, prepare a Railway service from that repository, and use Supabase for saved launches and checklist evidence. Include owners, due dates, blockers, and a review summary. Do not edit the live store or import customer data. Start with a fictional product launch and show the smallest complete workflow.
Supply a real example of your launch checklist with sensitive details removed. Ask the agent to distinguish a missing asset from a failed check so a reviewer knows what to do next.
Connect the pieces deliberately
The repository is the source of the application. Railway runs the version deployed from the selected branch. Supabase stores the launch records and access permissions.
Ask for versioned database setup and an environment-variable example with names only. Place actual credentials in the appropriate service settings. Restrict each team's records to authorized members and test the rule using a separate account.
If you later connect Shopify, define the smallest needed permissions. Read-only product context may be enough. A readiness tool does not automatically need the power to change products, fulfill orders, or alter payments.
Test the decision you care about
Create a launch, leave one required check incomplete, and confirm the summary shows the blocker. Add evidence, refresh, and confirm it persists. Check the experience on a phone because someone may update a launch from a warehouse or photo session.
Then use it during a real launch review. Did it surface a consequential missing item? Did the team understand who should fix it? Did anyone still maintain a separate spreadsheet because the tool was unclear?
Keep commerce and supporting tools in proportion
If you need a store, evaluate Shopify through our affiliate link. If you need a custom supporting workflow, explore Railway through our referral link.
Choose the smallest setup that improves the work. The purpose of a launch tracker is a more reliable launch—not a second system your team has to keep updated by hand.
