Prioritize existing audiences, useful gift pages, product feeds, creator demonstrations and controlled paid tests before the holiday rush.
Holiday 2026 field guide. Start with the holiday growth center. Black Friday: November 27. Cyber Monday: November 30. Examples below are planning scenarios, not client results.
Start with the shortest path to a qualified buyer
If you already have customers, engaged subscribers or a proven advertising campaign, start there. If your audience is small, choose a narrow partnership or product demonstration and a modest test. Trying six unfamiliar channels at once will make it difficult to tell which work deserves more time.
A channel plan you can execute
| Channel | Work to finish this week | What to measure |
|---|---|---|
| Existing email audience | Segment engaged subscribers and recent buyers; prepare one preview and one launch message with purchase exclusions. | Delivered messages, useful clicks, orders, contribution, unsubscribes and complaints; opens alone are unreliable. |
| Gift-intent landing pages | Build one real collection for a recipient, use case or budget; include useful selection advice and delivery facts. | Relevant visits, product clicks, orders and unanswered questions. |
| Google product discovery | Check Merchant Center diagnostics, item eligibility and matching price/stock/shipping details. | Eligible items, free-listing clicks, conversion and contribution. |
| Creators and partners | Give two relevant creators a precise demo brief and a destination that matches the content. | Tagged visits, orders, commission cost and refunds; codes can leak and attribution can overlap. |
| Existing paid campaigns | Fix product/feed issues and keep budget changes within a written cap. Separate prospecting from returning audiences. | Acquisition cost, contribution and new-customer quality; inspect attribution windows. |
| Local pickup and business gifting | Offer a clear pickup window or a concise corporate-gift page when operations can support it. | Qualified inquiries, quote-to-order rate, margin and capacity. |
Step 1: make a landing page worth arriving on
Give it one promise: for example, “A coffee gift they will use every morning.” Show three to six suitable products, honest comparisons, total pricing, what comes in the box, availability, shipping estimates and return conditions. Include both a good entry choice and a premium upgrade. Put key information in readable text, not only inside an image.
Step 2: make three useful creative ideas
- Show it working: demonstrate the product solving a recognizable problem.
- Help people choose: explain two options and who each suits.
- Remove one hesitation: answer a real question about size, compatibility, care or delivery.
AI can draft a shot list and captions from approved product facts. Use real product imagery when appearance or performance matters. Do not generate fake product demonstrations, customer testimonials or outcomes.
Step 3: repair free product discovery
Google’s free-listing documentation says eligible products may appear across its shopping surfaces, but display is not guaranteed. Check diagnostics, accurate identifiers where applicable, images, shipping and returns. Fix mismatches between the feed and landing page before sending more traffic. Search traffic can take time; a page published today is not a promise of Black Friday rankings.
Step 4: control the test
Use a short tagged URL naming the channel and creative. Check that it reaches the right product on a phone. Set a total budget you can afford to lose and a review point. Use order contribution to judge whether acquisition cost is supportable. Do not add the revenue claims from email, social and ad platforms together; the same purchase may appear in several reports.
Illustrative plan for a small team: Monday, choose the offer and fix its page. Tuesday, record three demonstrations. Wednesday, test all links and consent rules. Thursday, send to an eligible engaged segment and begin a capped paid or partner test. Friday, inspect customer questions and orders. Spend the next week improving what produced useful evidence.
When traffic is not the next problem
If checkout fails, stock is inaccurate, delivery costs appear unexpectedly or the product does not answer a clear need, repair that first. More visitors will amplify those problems. Use the funnel checker and metrics guide to decide what deserves attention.
